GEZAMENLIJK DOUCHEN

         

Gezamenlijk Douchen is the project of two childhood friends who have been making music together for over a decade. On their debut album, 'korfball.', set to release later this year, they put their own spin on the Midwest Emo genre. Classic twinkly guitars and unambiguous lyrics are fused with influences from chamber pop, post-rock, and even blackgaze. The result is a layered, diverse, and harmonically rich sound — once described as 'dreamo' — that can be both dreamy and folky, as well as anthemic, biting, and intense.

'korfball.' paints a picture of growing up, longing, and the (letting go of) hope. The music reflects the musicians' personal experiences, along with their friendship and shared love for the melodramatic and lethargic. Each track weaves together emotional depth and musical complexity, capturing the essence of youthful uncertainty and quiet nostalgia.
